Therapeutic Massage and Hypnotherapy in Brighton and Hove
I am a Masseur, Healer and Hypnotherapist, with 17 years experience. I am based in Brighton and Hove, covering the Sussex coast from Lewes to Shoreham and Worthing.
I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of problems in the back and neck, having worked alongside a team of Chiropractors for 8 years. So my treatments are particularly helpful for people with neck or back pain.
In my work, I find it is very important to be able to offer a range of treatments to match the particular physiological and emotional needs of different people: what works perfectly for someone else may not work for you!
I started Healing about 30 years ago, while at university; and also learned basic counselling and massage skills. In the 90’s, after leaving the business world, I trained professionally in Swedish Massage and in Shiatsu, and have been in practice since 1991. However, experience has been the best opportunity for developing and honing the skills I use today in my healing and therapeutic work, incorporating a holistic approach into Spinal Massage.
For clients who require it, I offer deeply relaxing Pregnancy Massage, and powerful Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
I am also trained as a Hypnotherapist and as a Bereavement Counsellor; and most recently, I have trained to be an Interfaith Minister and Spiritual Counsellor.
Part of my work is in helping people to understand how their body works – and their mind, too. With better understanding, people become more able to take control of their lives, and make more positive choices for themselves. Advice on diet, posture and nutrition can be very useful in addition to the therapeutic value of the massage treatment; Counselling, or calming Hypnosis proves even more helpful, for some people.
Often, just being ‘a good and faithful companion’ for people as they go through the ups and downs of life is as much help and support as any of the more ‘technical’ aspects of being a therapist. Just ‘being there’ as a genuinely caring human being is itself part of the antidote for today’s world of depersonalised ‘services’ and goals.
Taking proper care of your body is an essential part of making your life work – not just today but in all the years of your life to come.
